Morocco’s airports exceeded 23.9 million travelers during the first eight months of 2025, up 11.7% from the same period a year earlier, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF).
In its recent economic report, the DEPF noted that this growth follows an 11.2% increase in international passenger traffic, combined with a 15.8% rise in domestic traffic, H24 info reported.
Regionally, this increase reflects consolidated growth in traffic with Europe (+10.6%), the Middle and Far East (+15.5%), North and Latin America combined (+23.2%), Africa (+9.7%), and Maghreb countries (+10%). Air cargo traffic also rose by 8.6% over the first eight months of 2025.
Regarding port activity, the total volume of commercial goods handled at national ports grew 11.6% as of the end of June, following a 15.3% increase the previous year, reaching a total of 130 million tons. This growth is linked to strong performance in transshipment traffic (+15.5%), cabotage (+29.1%), exports (+10.8%), and imports (+5%). Passenger port traffic also increased by 9.5% in the first half of 2025 to surpass 1.6 million passengers.
National railways transported nearly 27 million passengers in H1 2025, representing a 3% increase, while rail freight traffic grew 20% in volume to 11 million tons.
