Jonathan Sullivan leads Seabury Consulting’s efforts in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. Jonathan joined Seabury Consulting in 2002 and since then he has worked on more than 25 airline turnaround projects in every region of the world. He has also managed a host of consulting engagements covering strategic reviews, commercial performance boosts, cost and efficiency comparisons, cost reduction mandates, mergers & acquisitions advisory, due diligence screenings, aircraft purchase (re)-negotiations, strategic sourcing negotiations, financial advisory, and program office management.

Over the course of his time at Seabury, he has worked with senior management and boards across most airline functions including: sales and marketing, revenue management, network planning, fleet planning, product, airport and flight operations, maintenance, human resources, corporate finance, and regional affiliates.  Recent engagements include the successful privatization and turnaround of TAP Air Portugal; the successful turnaround and restructuring of Air Nostrum; designing a turn-around plan for several Middle Eastern airlines; a 10-year growth plan for two Indian carriers; numerous cost benchmarking exercises; a re-structure of a mid-sized airline’s organisational structure; turn-around planning for a North African airline; a cost reduction exercise for a leading low-cost carrier; re-designing the interfaces between a group company’s airline and its MRO; a highly successful cost transformation program at a prominent Middle East carrier over the course of a year and a series of strategic reviews with European and North African airlines.

Jonathan was also part of the team that helped Avianca work its way through the US Chapter 11 process in 2003 and 2004 with the eventual sale of the restructured airline to German Efromovich’s Ocean Air.   He also advised US Airways on their merger with America West in 2005.

Prior to joining Seabury, Jonathan was a senior auditor with Ernst & Young in Dallas and Tulsa, where he worked on the specialized fair value issues of structured energy contracts, FAS 133 implementation, and audits of technology, industrial and gaming companies.  Jonathan has an MBA with distinction from INSEAD as well as a BBA and Master in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin where he was a Sommerfeld Scholar.  

Jonathan is a frequent presenter at airline conferences and is a recurring guest lecturer in Cranfield's Air Transport MBA programme.  He has been fortunate to live in 7 different countries and work in dozens of others.  He speaks Spanish as well as English.
