Coordination

In the coordination area AACO provides its member airlines with a forum for exchanging views and constructive debate on all the major fields of the industry. The Annual General Meeting of AACO brings together the Chief Executive Officers of member Airlines to discuss strategic issues in addition to AACO internal issues. The AGM has also become an international event convening our industry partners from the manufacturing and services fields and the heads of IATA, other Regional Associations and Eurocontrol. An Executive Committee of seven CEOs elected by the AGM provides strategic overview for AACO's work.

COMMITTEES:
The AGM also receives the reports of AACO's seven standing Committees namely:

		Commercial Affairs Committee
			Aeropolitical Issues Follow up
			Developing Joint Policies
			Recommending appropriate action in the following areas: Marketing tools, inter-airlines relations, bilateral and multilateral cooperation, prorate agreements, commercial relationship with CRSs, distribution aspect of airlines product and future trends of airlines policies in this area
			Internet Booking Engines (IBE)
			Agency Commissions
			Sub-committees & Working Groups
			- Scheduling working group:   - Joint Scheduling Coordination   - Work to be resumed in the near future - Prorate:   - Joint Coordination with regards to the new developments   - Coordination with IATA   - Meets when the need arises

		Technical Committee
			The aim of the Technical Committee is to promote cooperation in technical fields, including flight operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, environment, security and training.
			The committee works to tackle and follow up the technical issues of joint interest and to coordinate AACO members position in international and regional fora.
			The Technical Committee works through 2 focus groups and 3 Taskforces:
			- Emergency Response Focus Group - MRO Focus Group - Environmental Task Force - Aviation Security Taskforce - Air Routes Optimization Task Force

		AACO Technical Fuel Committee
		AACO has successfully brought together the Arab fuel-supplying companies in coordination with the Arab airlines to set and harmonize the fuel technical standards and to cooperate in training through the AACO Aviation Fuel Technical Committee. This project gathers AACO member airlines with fuel companies, and works on improving the quality of aviation fuel in the Arab World through exchange of experience, quality assurance, fuel specifications, and training.

		Information Technology Committee
			To provide a coordinated, cost effective approach to current IT issues including networking and telecommunications
			To Exchange information and expertise
			To develop Joint Projects for airline members
			To provide technical support for other committees or taskforces during negotiations
			The committee coordinator in AACO is Mr. Rashad Karaky.
		Services Committee
			To overview customer services related issues (i.e. passenger, cargo, terminal services, baggage, ramp handling airport safety and security, in flight services and catering.
			To simplify and harmonize work procedures among members
			To look into means and projects to cut down the operating costs of airline members
			To monitor international developments and coordinate unified issues within the framework of the committee to safeguard the best interest of the airline members.

		Planning and Development of Human Resources Committee
			Provides a forum for integrating the requirements and the capabilities of human resources development among member airlines
			Provides guidance to training programs and topics for the Regional Training Center.
